Exhibition
Malaysia-Thailand-Singapore Photography Exhibition
Date : 12 - 19 July 2009
Venue : Wisma SGM, KL
Theme : Union Of Lights
This Exhibition, to be officially opened by YAB Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and President of Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia will be a major event organized by PSM and SGM, involving 100 works of photographers from Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The four photographic societies ie the Photographic Society of Malaysia (PSM), the Royal Photographic Society of Thailand (RPST), Singapore Colour Photographic Society (SCPS) and Photovivo Singapore (PVS) will work hand in hand to put up an exhibition of 100 photos. A coffee table book will be published as well, showcasing the 100 photos.

The Kelantan Members Outing 2009
The Society's 1st photography outing for 2009 was held from 5 June - 7 June. It was a marathon of photographic activities, non stop from the time we left KL on 4 June 11.00 pm right till we reached KL on 8 June 4.00 am!
Tiring, exhaustive, sleep lacking...but members who participated in this outing had fun, became closer and had lots of opportunities for great photo taking.
The judging for this contest will be held on 5 July 2.00 pm at the Society's HQ. Winning photos will be put up on the website after that date. Members wishing to join the Society's 2nd outing to Malacca should enroll earlier to avoid disappointment, as places are limited. |

Upcoming Events
Photo Contest 2009
1) PSM members 2nd photo contest 2009 themed "Rain"will be judged on 5 July 2.00 pm at the Society's HQ. Members are to submit 4 photos for judging. Best of luck!
2) Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia will be organizing a photo contest themed "Environment", with PSM as the co-organizer. Contest forms can be downloaded here. For further details, please contact Mr Steven Leong at 012-6038833 or Harry Woo at 012-3344396.

The Photographic Society of Malaysia - Associates
There were 5 applicants for the APSM for the 1st assessment of the Society's Distinction this year. Three were from Singapore and two locally. The panel of judges were Mr Ng Chee Kong, Mr Teh Eng Guan, Dr Wong Kum Weng, Mr Goh Chor Tian and Nick Ng. The assessment was held on 14 June 2009 at the Society's HQ, attended by about 50 members. The successful applicants are :

The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain - ARPS
The Society would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Mr Steve Chong, Vice President of the Photographic Society of Negeri Sembilan (PSNS) and a life member of the Society for his achievement in gaining the Associateship from RPS in the category of Visual Art recently in June 2009.
